Temple of the Emerald Buddha

The Grand Palace
Le Grand Palais a été construit avec la fondation de Bangkok en 1782 lorsque le roi Rama 1 monta sur le trône et fonda une nouvelle dynastie. Le Grand Palais est très important car il était autrefois le palladium de l'État. Il servait à la fois de résidence royale et de centre administratif du pays dans le système gouvernemental de la monarchie absolue. Aujourd'hui, le palais est utilisé uniquement pour les cérémonies. Le plan architectural de ce palais était presque identique dans les moindres détails au Grand Palais de l'ancienne capitale d'Ayutthaya (il y a environ 600 ans) car le roi voulait recréer la gloire de la ville telle qu'elle était dans le passé. Il a donc été entièrement construit dans le style thaï traditionnel. Cependant, à diverses périodes, les influences d'autres nations affectent l'architecture en Thaïlande sous différents règnes tels que les éléments chinois introduits par le roi Rama 3 au début du 19e siècle et le style de construction occidental introduit par le roi Rama 5 à la fin du 19e siècle. .

Katie was absolutely outstanding, and we could not have asked for a better guide for our family in Bangkok. She went above and beyond throughout the entire day and turned what could have been a challenging sightseeing day into one of the highlights of our trip. We were traveling as a family with children and my elderly mother, who walks very slowly with a walker. From the very beginning, Katie was incredibly patient, thoughtful, considerate, and attentive to my mother’s needs. She never made us feel rushed and constantly made sure my mother was comfortable. She helped her throughout the day, adjusted the pace for her, and genuinely treated her with kindness and care. As a family, we really appreciated this. Katie’s English is excellent, and she is extremely easy to communicate with. She explained the places we visited clearly and interestingly without overwhelming us with information. She was also wonderful with our kids and knew how to keep the day enjoyable for everyone, despite the very different ages and needs within our family. One of the best parts of the day was the canal boat tour that Katie recommended. We hadn’t originally planned on doing it, but we are so glad we followed her suggestion. It ended up being one of the highlights of our entire day. Seeing Bangkok from the canals, the local neighborhoods and traditional houses from the water was a completely different experience, and it also gave my mother a nice break from walking. It was an excellent recommendation. What impressed us most was that Katie didn’t simply take us from one attraction to another. She was constantly thinking about what would make the experience better for our particular family. She was flexible, never rushed us, helped whenever we needed it, and clearly cared about making sure everyone had a great day. After spending the entire day with her, we felt like we were sightseeing with someone who genuinely cared about our family rather than simply completing a tour itinerary. If you are visiting Bangkok—especially if you are traveling with children, elderly parents, or a multigenerational family—I highly recommend requesting Katie as your guide. She is professional, knowledgeable, warm, patient, and genuinely caring. Thank you, Katie, for taking such wonderful care of our family and giving us such a memorable day in Bangkok. We had an amazing Bangkok temple and canal tour. Communication was excellent and everything was well organized, making the experience smooth and stress-free. This was an excellent first-day tour of Bangkok with an even better tour guide, Bella, who was warm, personable and engaging. We have two teenage kids, but Bella would seemingly be a good fit for just about anyone. We highly recommend the tour and the guide, and would book directly the next time.

Our Bangkok temples tour was outstanding! Angie was the perfect guide—professional, friendly, caring, and extremely knowledgeable about the history and culture of every temple we visited. It was a very hot day, but thanks to the excellent organization, we were comfortable throughout the tour. The air-conditioned van, refreshing wet towels, handheld fans, and umbrellas made a huge difference. Angie was always making sure everyone was comfortable and enjoying the experience. She also knew exactly where to stop for the most beautiful photos and gave us plenty of time to appreciate each place without feeling rushed. The driver was excellent, and everything was perfectly planned. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience. A top-quality agency with a top guide and a top driver. We highly recommend this tour!
We really enjoyed our private tour with Preecha to the Grand Palace and surrounding temples. He checked in with us the day before to confirm the dress code and arrived to our hotel early the morning of our tour. He took us through all of our stops very efficiently and took great photos of our family. We went to several different temples and we really enjoyed the pace given how hot it was. Our driver Peter was great too because he was always there to meet us when we needed to drive to another area. Preecha was very informative and we learned a lot! He also gave us the option of taking the canal tour which was not originally part of the tour which was great. We would highly recommend a tour with Preecha!

We had the pleasure of spending the day with Poppy on a private tour of Bangkok’s Grand Palace and temples, and it was one of the best experiences of our trip. She brought the history to life with fascinating stories, interesting details, and a great sense of humor that kept both my sister and me engaged throughout the day. Because it was a private tour, she was able to tailor the experience to our interests, and we never felt rushed. Shes also a great photographer! We also want to recognize our driver, Tum, who was outstanding. Bangkok traffic can be hectic, but Tum made every transfer smooth, comfortable, and stress free. He was always waiting for us with a smile, had the air conditioning and a cold drink ready on the hot day, and got us from place to place safely and efficiently. Poppy and Tum worked together seamlessly as a team, making the entire experience effortless from beginning to end. If you’re looking for a guide who is knowledgeable, professional, funny, and passionate about sharing Thailand’s history and culture, along with a driver who takes great care of you throughout the day, we couldn’t recommend Poppy and Tum more highly.
