Temple of the Emerald Buddha
Die Smaragd-Buddha-Statue, die wichtigste Buddha-Statue in Thailand, ist in der Ordinationshalle des Tempels aufbewahrt. The Grand Palace
Der Große Palast wurde zusammen mit der Gründung Bangkoks im Jahr 1782 errichtet, als König Rama I. den Thron bestieg und eine neue Dynastie gründete. Der Große Palast ist sehr wichtig, da er einst das Palladium des Staates war. Es diente sowohl als königliche Residenz als auch als Verwaltungszentrum des Landes im Regierungssystem der absoluten Monarchie. Heute wird der Palast nur noch für Zeremonien genutzt. Der architektonische Plan dieses Palastes war bis ins Detail fast identisch mit dem Großen Palast der ehemaligen Hauptstadt Ayutthaya (vor etwa 600 Jahren), da der König den Glanz der Stadt wie in der Vergangenheit wiederherstellen wollte. Es wurde also zunächst komplett im traditionellen thailändischen Stil erbaut. Zu verschiedenen Zeiten wirkten sich jedoch Einflüsse anderer Nationen auf die Architektur in Thailand aus, beispielsweise die chinesischen Elemente, die König Rama 3 im frühen 19. Jahrhundert einführte, und der westliche Baustil, der von König Rama 5 im späten 19. Jahrhundert eingeführt wurde .

WatPo Thai Traditional Massage School

Katie was absolutely outstanding, and we could not have asked for a better guide for our family in Bangkok. She went above and beyond throughout the entire day and turned what could have been a challenging sightseeing day into one of the highlights of our trip. We were traveling as a family with children and my elderly mother, who walks very slowly with a walker. From the very beginning, Katie was incredibly patient, thoughtful, considerate, and attentive to my mother’s needs. She never made us feel rushed and constantly made sure my mother was comfortable. She helped her throughout the day, adjusted the pace for her, and genuinely treated her with kindness and care. As a family, we really appreciated this. Katie’s English is excellent, and she is extremely easy to communicate with. She explained the places we visited clearly and interestingly without overwhelming us with information. She was also wonderful with our kids and knew how to keep the day enjoyable for everyone, despite the very different ages and needs within our family. One of the best parts of the day was the canal boat tour that Katie recommended. We hadn’t originally planned on doing it, but we are so glad we followed her suggestion. It ended up being one of the highlights of our entire day. Seeing Bangkok from the canals, the local neighborhoods and traditional houses from the water was a completely different experience, and it also gave my mother a nice break from walking. It was an excellent recommendation. What impressed us most was that Katie didn’t simply take us from one attraction to another. She was constantly thinking about what would make the experience better for our particular family. She was flexible, never rushed us, helped whenever we needed it, and clearly cared about making sure everyone had a great day. After spending the entire day with her, we felt like we were sightseeing with someone who genuinely cared about our family rather than simply completing a tour itinerary. If you are visiting Bangkok—especially if you are traveling with children, elderly parents, or a multigenerational family—I highly recommend requesting Katie as your guide. We had an amazing Bangkok temple and canal tour. Communication was excellent and everything was well organized, making the experience smooth and stress-free. This was an excellent first-day tour of Bangkok with an even better tour guide, Bella, who was warm, personable and engaging. We have two teenage kids, but Bella would seemingly be a good fit for just about anyone. We highly recommend the tour and the guide, and would book directly the next time.

Our Bangkok temples tour was outstanding! Angie was the perfect guide—professional, friendly, caring, and extremely knowledgeable about the history and culture of every temple we visited. It was a very hot day, but thanks to the excellent organization, we were comfortable throughout the tour. The air-conditioned van, refreshing wet towels, handheld fans, and umbrellas made a huge difference. Angie was always making sure everyone was comfortable and enjoying the experience. She also knew exactly where to stop for the most beautiful photos and gave us plenty of time to appreciate each place without feeling rushed. We really enjoyed our private tour with Preecha to the Grand Palace and surrounding temples. He checked in with us the day before to confirm the dress code and arrived to our hotel early the morning of our tour. He took us through all of our stops very efficiently and took great photos of our family. We went to several different temples and we really enjoyed the pace given how hot it was. Our driver Peter was great too because he was always there to meet us when we needed to drive to another area. Preecha was very informative and we learned a lot! He also gave us the option of taking the canal tour which was not originally part of the tour which was great. We would highly recommend a tour with Preecha!

We had the pleasure of spending the day with Poppy on a private tour of Bangkok’s Grand Palace and temples, and it was one of the best experiences of our trip. We also want to recognize our driver, Tum, who was outstanding. Bangkok traffic can be hectic, but Tum made every transfer smooth, comfortable, and stress free. He was always waiting for us with a smile, had the air conditioning and a cold drink ready on the hot day, and got us from place to place safely and efficiently. Poppy and Tum worked together seamlessly as a team, making the entire experience effortless from beginning to end. If you’re looking for a guide who is knowledgeable, professional, funny, and passionate about sharing Thailand’s history and culture, along with a driver who takes great care of you throughout the day, we couldn’t recommend Poppy and Tum more highly.
