Simple but very nice meal of chowder and shortbreads with easy recipes and eaten with a bread and cheese appetizer plate. Great class particularly for newbie cooks. Clean, well organized, cheerful staff, lots of fun!

This class was great! We learned how to make shortbread cookies and a soup.. we we also served coffee/tea. There was a cheese tasting prior to eating what we cooked. I’m not a huge fish lover but the smoked fish in this soup was next level best! It turned out to be an incredibly easy recipe to make in relationship to the flavor. I will keep this recipe and use it for guests. This class started at 10am and created a wonderful lunch experience for our trip. They had a rustic sourdough bread that was served with the soup. Top all that off with a cookie we made with our own hands!

Ailsa was such a wonderful instructor and we had an amazing time cooking a traditional Scottish meal with her! She gets all locally sourced ingredients and supports her fellow small business owners at the same time.

We did Ailsa’s traditional Scottish cooking workshop as part of a family holiday in Scotland and had such a great evening! We were a mixed group of 8 of several generations, from grandparents to children, and Ailsa’s bubbly enthusiasm was contagious. She managed to get everyone involved and made the whole experience feel relaxed, personal and great fun. The recipes were delicious but also surprisingly easy to make, and definitely things we’ll be cooking again at home. We loved that it wasn’t just about cooking either, it was a lovely way to learn more about Scottish food and culture while spending an evening together as a family. If you’re visiting Edinburgh and looking for something a little different from the usual sightseeing, we would absolutely recommend The Wee Kitchen. It was one of those experiences that really added something special to our holiday and helped us explore Scotland from another angle. Thanks Ailsa and Cat for a wonderful evening!
