Sifnos Goat Milking and Cheese Making Experience

My visit to Anthis Farm was a really enjoyable, hands-on experience and a great break from the usual sightseeing. There are a lot of animals you can interact with and they will greet you at the gate. I petted happy pigs, spent time with bunnies, and got to know Rita the donkey along with a group of very friendly and cheeky cats. We also fed chickens, geese, ducks, peacocks, and their young chicks. As a big animal lover I could have spent hours here. A highlight was trying goat milking, which was a first for me. The animals are very accessible, and you get plenty of time to actually engage with them rather than just observe. At least one goat preferred my husband’s hands over mine. We finished with a really good dinner on the farm, followed by a practical demonstration of how to make the local manoura cheese, which was interesting and well explained, and easier than expected. Overall, a well-run, interactive experience that’s especially good if you enjoy being around animals and want something more hands-on than a typical farm visit. Definitely plan this in for your visit - and stay for the entire time! Thank you, we loved it!

This was me and my fiancée’s favorite part of our trip to Sifnos, and is well worth your time. Exploring the farm and seeing the wide range of animals is so much fun, and so was actually milking the goats. After being shown around the farm, we sat down and were fed a delicious meal consisting of a wide range of dishes, which were l spectacular. Both of the hosts were so friendly and welcoming, and I recommend this to anyone remotely interested in animals or just having a relaxing dinner with great company.

This was a great experience topped off with a very tasty homemade dinner. Visiting the farm with its menagerie of goats, sheep, donkey, turkeys, ducks, geese, chickens and cats was very entertaining. Milking the goats (we did not do the cheese making option) was fun and interesting. The meal was definitely homemade, varied and delicious! A highlight of our 2 weeks in Greece! Strongly recommend.

Visiting Anthi Farm was one of the absolute highlights of our visit to Sifnos! From the very beginning Anthi and Marina greeted us with open arms and heartfelt hospitality. The farm is peaceful, and it is clear how much care goes into everything. Anthi is very passionate about all her animals and meeting them was an absolute delight – they are all so well cared for and friendly. We even got a chance to milk a goat! Not exactly your everyday vacation activity. The evening was filled with stories, flavours and tradition. Marina served up an incredible authentic dinner, rich in local ingredients and served generously. We also learned how to make cheese from fresh goat’s milk. Watching it come together (and then tasting it) was both educational and delicious. This wasn’t just a farm visit it was an immersive, hands-on connection to the land, culture and people of Sifnos. A totally excellent experience! Meeting all the animals (who were all super lovely with fabulous personalities), goat miking (always wanted to do this), such yummy vegetarian food (I am such a foodie and it was totally excellent), learning about local cheese making. We also had a lovely group with us, 8 in total from different places in the world. Lively and interesting discussion about local farming, food and culture. Thank you so much! Highly recommended!
