Overzicht
Putu's kitchen is simple, with only a two-burner cooktop but you will be impressed by the speed and fluidity with which she prepares a complex menu with multiple dishes. You will taste a variety of authentic dishes with potential ones being Putu’s grilled eggplant with tomato, grilled fish with Balinese sambal (chili sauce), a curry dish (either chicken, fish or vegetarian) or perhaps a variety of pepes (foods seasoned with local spices, wrapped in banana leaves and steamed). You can expect the cooking lesson to last about 1-2 hours before you sit down and enjoy the delicious meal you helped prepare with your host and her family.

Wat je gaat doen
Doe mee met Putu in haar thuiskeuken voor een privé, hands-on Balinese kookles in haar voorouderlijk dorp in Ubud, genesteld tussen weelderige tuinen en tropische boomgaarden. Je wordt hartelijk verwelkomd door haar multigenerationele familie voordat je samen vijf authentieke gerechten bereidt, met verse ingrediënten die van haar eigen boerderij zijn geoogst. Terwijl je hakt, maalt en grillt, deelt Putu verhalen achter haar familierecepten, de levendige kruiden die ze gebruikt en de helende eigenschappen van traditionele Balinese ingrediënten, waarvan de meeste rechtstreeks van haar eigen boerderij komen. Haar keuken is misschien eenvoudig, met slechts een tweepits kookplaat, maar je zult versteld staan van het gemak en de gratie waarmee ze complexe smaken tot leven brengt. Je maaltijd wordt begeleid door de rijst van hun familie, geteeld door Putu's grootouders die rijstboeren zijn. Puts was awesome! We made 5 different dishes, all hands on. Very fun and tasty. You can choose you.level of heat and add more or.less to the next dish as you sample each one as it's cooled. Putu also had options for.making the dishes vegan. Highly recommend.

Her instructions were clear, engaging, and so easy to follow, making the entire experience both educational and tons of fun. The ingredients were incredibly fresh, and the final feast we prepared together was delicious beyond expectations. We had such a memorable time bonding over amazing food and incredible hospitality. Brilliant morning. Putu was an excellent teacher, explaining what we had to do and why. The location is lovely, out in the countryside at a beautiful house. My kids, (14 and 16) and I all got to prepare different elements and cook different things. The final results tasted excellent and we are already planning to make the recipes again when we get home. The only problem was that we made too much.
