The Journey begint in Dubai, waar de buitenwijken geleidelijk plaats maken voor woestijnsteden. Aan de rand van het emiraat bezoeken we een lokale munt- en dadelboerderij.

Nadat we de nationale boom van de Emiraten hebben bewonderd - de Ghaf-boom - wagen we ons in een oude rivierbedding waar we zien hoe klimaatverandering het landschap heeft gevormd, hoe het plantenleven zich heeft aangepast en hoe fossielen nog steeds te vinden zijn in de oude kalksteenrotsen te midden van de woestijn. Intieme ontmoetingen met kamelen zijn zeer waarschijnlijk!

De reis gaat verder naar het oosten over een uitgestrekte alluviale vlakte bezaaid met acaciabomen die doen denken aan de Afrikaanse savanne. We leren hoe oude rivieren vulkanisch gesteente uit de Hajar hebben getransporteerd om nog zichtbare overblijfselen van rivieroevers te vormen. Meer ontmoetingen met kamelen zijn hier gegarandeerd, en als we geluk hebben, zien we enkele wilde ezels!

Wend u door de prachtige wadi Showkah en stop voor een picknick in een weelderige tropische boerderij. Bekijk het falaj-irrigatiesysteem en geniet van een moment van pure ontspanning in de natuur. Wie wil, kan een wandeling van 1-2 km door de wadi-bedding maken. Bekijk oude ruïnes die getuigen van een lang vervlogen tijdperk. Aan het einde van de wadi gaan we terug naar de snelweg en naar Dubai

We participated in the Journey to the Heart of the Emirates. It was a fantastic journey, great professionalism in the planning of the trip, day planning was very well balanced with options to stop during the trip whenever was best for us. We visited a mint farm and date plantation where we got some fresh mint for the after lunch tea break! Great! We got excellent explanation about all of the different landscapes, from the Hajar Mountains, the similar African Savannah landscape, wadi visit and a great picnic at a tropical fruit and date farm! Koen was a fantastic guide and we have enjoyed every single minute of our day-trip! Thanks for the great experience, one to recommend!
My husband and I booked Unveil Arabia for two days of private tours. The first was to Abu Dhabi and the other was their Heart of the emirates tour. We could not have been happier! From the zoom call we had in advance of our trip, to the communication after we had arrived in Dubai, this team of professionals were so great! They listened to our interests and planned tours which were customized to our desires. In particular, I wanted to interact with camels, but didn’t want to RIDE a camel (as I believe the ridden camels are often overworked and not treated well). Unveil Arabia arranged a wonderful visit to a camel farm where they were well-treated, friendly and healthy. This is just one example of the curated tour experience they will coordinate for you. Lastly, they helped arrange a dinner reservation for us to experience Dubai Fountain show, and we had the best seat in the house! You will not find a better, or more thorough tour company. We took a full day journey to the Heart of the Emirates.Not self drive...but guided by Patrice. We spent a wonderful day,discovering desert ,mointains ans wahdi with all the explanations we needed,given by Patrice.

A fantastic trip to the heart of the Emirates. A must when you’re staying in Dubai. Konrad is a very knowledgable and friendly guide and ready to answer all our questions. We enjoyed immensely visiting the desert, mountains and local farms and can highly recommend this adventure.

Joined the trip based on recommendations from other friends who had attended this earlier. Our family loved going off the beaten path on this tour of the UAE! Salua and Konrad have created a totally different experience of this region, and it's a fantastic opportunity to learn about the geology and culture of the various Emirates. They are very knowledgeable and take you to places you wouldn't typically go. They also paid attention to all the details to keep us feeling safe and comfortable (even within a larger group of a few families/couples) both in terms of Covid precautions and making sure we had good food and rest stops. I'm looking forward to more Unveil Arabia experiences so we can learn and enjoy more!
