2-Days Private Tour to Gobeklitepe and Karahantepe from Istanbul

Göbekli Tours was terrific. The Driver, Mark was awaiting us at the airport despite our flight delay. The vehicle is lovely, clean & comfortable. He was very kind, carrying our bags and immediately offering water He connected us via speakerphone to our guide, Taha, who greeted us warmly and confirmed Tuesday’s pickup for our private tours to Göbeklitepe and Karahantepe Taha speaks perfect English (he went to college in Miami) and is extraordinarily knowledgeable about the archeology and history of the sites, having majored in the disciplines. He’s friendly and so passionate about the subjects that he and other archaeologists visit digs for pleasure when they are not working. It is well worth having a private guide versus a group tour — for the flexibility and freedom from crowds. I highly recommend Göbekli Tours; specifically Mark & Taha and suggest that you include Karahantepe on your visit, as it receives far fewer visitors, offers an intriguing contrast — and you may even get lucky enough (as we were!) to see a fresh dig!!! Mark picked us up on time the next morning from our hotel, and gave us a perfect stress-free ending to our wonderful trip.

Gobeklitepe had been on my bucket list since I was a kid and I finally was able to see the site with the hep of Taha and my guide Mehmet. I couldn't have had a better experience. Besides seeing Gobeklitepe, I was able to see a vast amount of other sites and exceeded my expectation. My only regret is that I didn't book additional days. I hope to visit again one day soon and will use this company.

Wonderful tour seeing so much in two days with Taha and Mehmet. Our driver drove safely and was polite. Taha was with us for the initial pick up at the airport and gave us information about Sanliurfa and the sites we were about to see. He met us again at Gobeklitepe and gave us detailed information about the site. Mehmet was our tour guide through the whole tour for both days. He was funny, kind, and informative. Basically everything we were looking for in a tour guide and more. My son and I learned so much and had a great time. I highly recommend them. Thank you Taha and Mehmet!
