The morning 8-Lakes minibus tour was a relaxed, interactive delight, enhanced by Gillian's depth of knowledge and Sandra's expert driving around narrow lanes (and hosts of cyclists !). In four hours we gained not just knowledge, but a sense of the distinctive lifestyle that the terrain imposes on its inhabitants, not least the compromise between the tourism essential for local employment and the area's magnificent nature, which pleads for our constant respect. We had an absolutely fantastic 8 Lakes in a Morning Half Day Tour with English Lakes Tours. From start to finish, the experience was exceptional and exceeded all our expectations. The scenery was simply breathtaking, and visiting eight beautiful lakes in just one morning was the perfect way to experience the stunning Lake District. The tour was well-paced, with plenty of opportunities to stop, take photographs, and enjoy the spectacular views without ever feeling rushed. A special mention has to go to Tim, our driver and guide. He was outstanding—friendly, professional, knowledgeable, and passionate about the Lake District. His fascinating stories, local history, and sense of humour made the journey just as enjoyable as the destinations themselves. Tim’s enthusiasm was infectious, and he went above and beyond to ensure everyone felt welcome and had a memorable experience. The minibus was comfortable, the itinerary was excellent, and everything was organised perfectly. If you’re looking for a wonderful way to explore the Lake District and learn more about its history and hidden gems, I can’t recommend English Lakes Tours highly enough. We would definitely book another tour and would be delighted to have Tim as our guide again. A truly five-star experience!

We all thoroughly enjoyed our trip and we were very impressed with our tour guide Gillian and driver Sandra. Their knowledge of the area was fabulous covering so many different elements. We were very lucky as there were only 3 of us and Gillian and Sandra were so well informed. It was a fantastic way to see the lakes. Highly recommend 🤩
