   La Galerie des Glaces

   The Hall of Mirrors is the most famous room of the Palace of Versailles. In this same room, the German Empire was declared in 1871 and the Treaty of Versailles signed by the victorious powers of World War I in 1919.

   After lunch, your guide will take you to the Grand Trianon, a private retreat built for Louis XIV. As the Palace of Versailles became increasingly crowded and bustling, the King sought a peaceful escape from court life. He found it in the Grand Trianon, an elegant palace constructed from beautiful pastel-pink marble.
