Cathedral Basilica of Matera
We will visit the Cathedral of Matera, an example of Apulian Romanesque style and dedicated to the Madonna delle Bruna. The latter is the Marian effigy dearest to the people of Matera and is celebrated during the homonymous festival on 2 July.

Casa Grotta di Vico Solitario
We will enter a cave house "inhabiting it" for a few moments like Matera from other times. We will become one with the thought of the now disappeared peasant civilization for a small emotional journey. The visit also includes admission to the neviera and the rock church of S: Agostino al Casalnuovo. NB. in case this particular cave house is inaccessible, another equivalent one will be visited

Church of Santa Maria de Idris
It is the most scenic and significant rock church in the Sassi of Matera, positioned inside an incredible rocky outcrop which has now become a symbol of the city. N.B. If this rock church is not accessible, we will visit the rock church of Santa Lucia alle Malve. In case of inaccessibility also of the rock church of Santa Lucia alle Malve, we will visit the rock church of the Holy Spirit.

Excellent organization, Sara, the guide, kind and knowledgeable. Recommended
Sara is an extremely prepared and competent guide, capable of telling the history of Matera in its most minute details. The guided tour lasts three hours, during which Sara helped us discover a lot of interesting information about the city, always maintaining an enthusiastic and professional spirit. The explanations of the various sites visited were punctual, easy to follow, and very rich in historical and artistic curiosities. I would strongly recommend the tour because it is truly the jewel in the crown for getting to know Matera thoroughly and in a fun way.
