Corinth Canal
After your driver picks you up from your accommodation follows a beautiful scenic coastal drive to Corinth which is about 50 minutes. Approaching Ancient Corinth we will make a stop to admire this wonder of engineering, the Corinth Canal.

The Diolkos
After the amazing view of the canal and on our way to ancient Corinth we will head to the west entrance of the canal to see the famous diolkos, build around 6th century BC. An ancient paved trackway where they would haul ships from one body of water to the other. A true wonder of ancient Greek technology.

Archaia Korinthos
The ancient city of Corinth holds a significant place in Greek history for its strategic location, prosperous trade, and influential culture. Situated between the Ionian Sea and the Aegean Sea, Corinth controlled the narrow Isthmus, a key trade route connecting the Mediterranean and the Black Sea and founding location of the Isthmian Games. It had a strong military presence as a strategic location for many wars over its ancient history and it experienced a series of political changes, alternating between periods of independence, Spartan control, and domination by other regional powers. Even after a period of decline during the Roman Conquest, it maintained its cultural importance until it underwent a significant urban renewal project initiated by Julius Caesar and later completed by Emperor Augustus. The city was rebuilt with a Roman architectural style, including temples, basilicas, and a forum. It became the capital of the Roman province of Achaea and a bustling cosmopolitan center.

I was worried about booking from an outside company but it was the best decision I have ever made for an excursion. He did an amazing job organizing the excursion. Very reliable and on time with our cruise ship time. He was knowledgeable and made sure we saw everything we has on our wish list. I would highly recommend this excursion. We had a great time.
Alexander , our tour guide, was very good, friendly, knowlegeable on the history of areas we visiting. He was flexible in accomodating our time . He recommended a very good resto by the beach and the taste was awsome. He told a lot of Greek history and culture.
Alexander, our guide, was fantastic! He was so informative and gave us a history and mythology lesson at every stop and while driving. By the end of the tour he felt like family. We wanted to cruise the Corinth Canal and after a long search finally landed on Alexander and Bucket List Tours. There were several tours that listed stopping to view the canal but this was the only tour we found that actually included taking a ferry ride on the canal. After picking us up at our hotel he drove us to Corinth and the ferry berth on the canal where we took an hour cruise up and back on the four-mile canal which connects the Gulf of Corinth with the Saronic Gulf. The canal was started under Roman Emperor Nero but not finished until the 1890's. Then the German's destroyed the canal in 1944 and with the help of the Marshall Plan, was reopened in 1949. Only 81-feet wide and 26-feet deep, modern traffic is limited, excluding large ships, but we saw large super yachts transiting, along with big sailboats and ferries. The narrowness of canal and the height of the cliffs (260-feet tall) gave us the same sensation of traveling a canyon. At each end of the canal are a submersible bridges, which was unique (I'm accustom to draw bridges) to watch them disappear below the surface of the water. From the canal we visited several stops Paul made in Corinth where he was preaching the gospel, had lunch at a seaside resort, the visited Acrocorinth, the huge fortress in old Corinth, which was amazing (and the location where parts of the movie The Odyssey was filmed) built in the 7th century BC, then the museum. It was the best tour of our trip and so enjoyable and informative.
Alexander knows his stuff and was very informative on the history of the area. Cold water was a plus as was the excellent comfortable van. Highly recommended
We had a great time and learned so much! Alexander's energy was amazing! He felt like family! Great English and highly responsive to messages and what the group wanted! No rush at all, there were no time limits at any of the sites. it was fantastic! We also got an extra stop for lunch on the beach and an ancient site which was just as interesting as the other sites ! We learned more history about the Greeks and mythology in 2 hours in the car with him than the entire day in the museum. Very passionate about his country and history. OPA!
