The E-learning Open Water Diver course is a 3 days course.
To enroll in a PADI Open Water Diver course (or Junior Open Water Diver course), you must be 10 years old or older. You need adequate swimming skills and need to be in good physical health.
No prior experience with scuba diving is required.

The PADI open water course is the first course to become a full open water scuba diver. The first day will be confined water training in the pool and the 2nd and 3rd days will be doing boat trips for open water diving. All of our courses include e-learning which can be completed at anytime

Due to the different hotel locations on the island, please advise the dive centre by email the name of your hotel. The dive centre will then reply to you with the appropriate pick up time for the morning of your dive trip. If we do not receive this email then we are not able to pick you up on the morning of the dive trip. Pick up transfers. Kindly note that hotel transfers are included in the rates apart from hotels/villas located on the South West side of the island to the North West side of the island, for this area there is an additional transfer fee of 800 thb round trip

- Diving within 18 hours of flying is not recommended. All participants will be required to complete a health questionnaire prior to diving. Some pre-existing medical conditions (eg asthma, heart conditions, etc) may prevent you from diving, please consult your doctor

5 Stars. Discovery Divers Koh Samui are a fantastic outfit. Great people and if you have not scuba dived before could not recommend it the adventure and Discovery Divers more. Phillip my instructor was fantastic.
It was a great experience to do the Open Water Diver Course with DISCOVERY, Our guide Jo was great character, very experienced and a good teacher. Everything else worked very well starting from the hotel pick up to the boat and the great Thai food served on the boat.
Filip was amazing - super fantastic instructor and very patient!! Everything was super professional and they run a very well produced certification. The hotel pick-up was also a great addition and made it super helpful. Really glad I did it through this organization.
An amazing time. Our teacher, Margaux, was absolutely brilliant. She made it such a satisfying and rewarding time for me and my family. We achieved so much in 3 days but it felt effortless. I highly recommend it!
Amazing experience with excellent staff. Our diving instructor was knowledgeable, patient and fun. FILIP is the diving instructor who got me and my daughter through this course. FILIP was very fun to dive with and the whole time we both felt safe and comfortable. After 37 years away from scuba diving, I was hesitant and skeptical about whether I’d be welcome as a senior learner. However, after a wonderful chat with Richie at the Discovery Divers office, his encouragement convinced me to sign up for the Open Water Diver course. My instructor, Pierre, made the next three days completely stress-free and highly enjoyable. Despite his extensive experience, his enthusiasm for teaching dive skills and safety was outstanding. He was incredibly attentive, checking on my comfort constantly, and even brought extra gear just to ensure a perfect fit. Even with poor water clarity, his professionalism made me feel completely at ease. Thank you so much, Pierre! Thanks also to Zoe and the rest of the friendly team. This was an incredible first dive experience to complete our Open Water Certification. All of the dive instructors and boat crew were awesome. My son and I worked directly with Zoe. She was extremely knowledgeable and patient. After the 4 certification dives we felt ready for our Live Aboard trip that we went on 5 days later.
Had an amazing experience with discovery dive centre. I did the 3 day PADI open water course, which on my very first dive was lucky enough to see a whale shark in the sea while diving!! My instructor Filip was great and couldn’t recommend him enough, he made feel very comfortable when learning to dive and explained things very clearly! Had a great time doing this course and would recommend to anyone!
