What you'll do
Super fun rafting in glacial meltwater flowing through collapsed lava tubes from Mt. Adams volcano, a USA National Wild and Scenic River - it's stunning! Adventure awaits in Class III+ rapids during summer months with Class IV in high water springtime. Husum Falls, an optional Class IV waterfall; contingent upon conditions. Your 4 hour experience includes all the equipment you need, just bring a good attitude for 1.5-2 hours of world class whitewater. Meet PDX Raft: The Portland Rafting Company at our outpost in White Salmon. Our friendly staff will check you in and get you suited up for the river! Nervous? No need to worry - expert guides will do a river orientation so you know what to expect. 8.5 miles / 2.5 - 3 hour river trip of world class whitewater. Take a moment to change into dry clothes, then relive your river rafting trip by viewing photos from the day. Bring a picnic and chill out amongst the beautiful trees of the Pacific Northwest or enjoy the small town of White Salmon!

From prefloat instructions to takeout the guides were top notch. Scenery was breathtaking. Our entire group of five went overboard at “Granny’s Snatch” rapid and were plucked out like bobbing apples by our guides. Shooting the waterfall near the end of our float was exhilarating. 100% recommended by all five of us!
The experience was wonderful, and our guide (Josh), as well as the other staff who kept us informed and safe, were great. We were a group of six people ranging in age from 8 to 48, and with some modifications, everyone's needs were met. The eight year old sat on the floor of the boat rather than on the side, and when we got to a waterfall with a large drop, the younger kids and their parent were able to get out out of the boat and skip that scarier part of the trip. One of the older riders was quite cold after getting wet, so if your group has someone who has trouble keeping warm, that might be an issue. Another note is that the directions on TripAdvisor for where to go to start the rafting tour are incorrect, so follow the directions from PDX Rafting instead.
The team at PDX rafting was very professional and safety conscience. We had a fantastic ride down the river knowing we were in good hands the whole way.

Absolutely wonderful time! Our tour guides Josh and Scott were super talented, comforting, and funny. Perfect mix of adrenaline pumping adventure and relaxing sight seeing. The water was definitely cold but the wetsuits kept us at the perfect temp. Totally recommend! :)
Pdx rafting deliveries a wonderful adventure that you will remember for years to come. Josh was a terrific guide. He focused on safety, teaching us about the river and having a good time. I would highly recommend any trip with them and we plan to do the full day trip next summer.
