Join the Uzungöl Day Tour departing from Trabzon at 10:00 AM, with pickup from your hotel or designated meeting points based on your reservation preference. Our first stop is the famous Sürmene knife workshop, where you can see traditional craftsmanship and shop for local products, before continuing toward Uzungöl. We are moving for Uzungol Tour and making our first visit to a short shopping break at Sürmene Knife Factory Outlet on the road.

Uzungol
The journey continues along the Black Sea coast to the town of Of, before turning inland toward the scenic Solaklı Valley. Surrounded by traditional village houses on steep hillsides, tea plantations, and hazelnut gardens, arrive in Uzungöl, one of Trabzon’s most popular destinations, located at 1,090 meters above sea level and known for its dense forests and dramatic landscape. Visit the Uzungöl Observation Terrace for a panoramic view of the lake, followed by the Artificial Waterfall, built to protect the lake from flooding. After these visits, enjoy free time in Uzungöl until 4:00 PM to explore the area at your own pace, relax in lakeside cafés, or simply take in the natural surroundings. At the end of a pleasant day, return to Trabzon with lasting memories of Uzungöl.

We were on the way with Hüseyin abi and the beautiful Gülnur for this tour. They are an amazing pair to experience the maximum hospitality and comfort. 🥰 First, we visited the knife store and got some explanations on the variety available in Trabzon. Then, we went over to the tea factory where we could taste the tea from the region and see how its production took place. They even gave us a little traditional dance show, which was really nice. Then, we ended up in Uzungöl. You absolutely need to try the Alabalık 🐟 here in butter. Uzungöl also offers pretty impressive scenery but be warned that it can get really crowded with the tourists. Our overall experience was pretty satisfactory that we decided to continue on our next tours with the same company after this one. ❤️

Zenofon Tours was very organized and communicative (both through TripAdvisor and WhatsApp), which I appreciated very much. They agreed to pick us up at our hotel which was close to downtown but not technically on their list, so I appreciated that they agreed to do that for us. They also provided water. There were only four of us on the tour, and we had a driver only, not a driver and a guide, and the driver spoke a bit of English but didn't really accompany us or explain things very much, just kind of dropped us off and expected we would know what to do. First we stopped at a tourist shop that sold knives, which would have been a waste of time in my opinion if it hadn't been for the guy playing kerence and some wonderful Turkish elder ladies who started dancing. Then we went to the tea factory which was very cool (I really like tea) but the guys at the factory don't speak English, only Turkish (and possibly Arabic?) - thankfully one of my fellow travelers knew enough Turkish and English to fill us in. The drive to Uzungol was gorgeous and the view was stunning but there wasn't really anywhere to hike. The walk around the lake takes about 30-45 mins and was PACKED full of people so it was hard to walk freely. Maybe it would be less crowded in fall or spring. The viewing platform had a nice view but I think they could cut out the stop at the "waterfall" (aka a concrete dam-like structure that was only a few meters high) and just give us more time at the lake. The stop for lunch was a beautiful restaurant by the Black Sea but it ended up being VERY late in the day (3-4PM). The restaurant was on the pricier side and had a mandatory 10% service fee, but the view was absolutely gorgeous so I forgave it. Overall we're glad we did it.

The trip is very nice and the guide “Seyda” is super friendly and helpful. It would’ve been very useful if we were informed to bring an umbrella as it is always raining, but other than this every thing was perfect
