Private Ubud Day Tour Waterfalls Sacred Monkeys and Rice Fields

My husband and I booked a day tour to ubud with Wayan Sudira. Such an amazing person to travel with. We had so much fun and highly recommended. He is very friendly and we learned a lot about the Bali culture. Great experience. We highly recommend and really looking forward to seeing him again in our next tour as well.

I don’t leave a lot of reviews, but in this case Elvin’s Bali Tour was beyond exceptional. Not only was virtually every one of our needs met, all the way from being picked up from the airport, to being driven to various locations around Bali, well-guided arrangements regarding meals and destinations, and an amazing and knowledgeable guide. But what made this trip so unique, I was introduced to a side of Bali that was much more inclusive then I could ever imagine. I did not go to Bali seeking spiritual experiences, but for those who are curious and interested, our guide was able to explain and introduce me to the right experiences. On that note, show respect for the culture, learn a little of the language, and greet as many people as possible, and trust me, when you will discover the most fascinating people both from Bali and beyond.

Hello!! If you are coming to Bali, hire this man. I cannot recommend him highly enough. We traveled to Bali with a group, and what began as needing someone to help us with transportation and navigating the island turned into something so much more. He became our guide, translator, problem-solver, cultural bridge, and ultimately our friend. So many of the experiences we will remember for the rest of our lives happened because we had someone we trusted helping us experience Bali in a way we never could have managed on our own. He took care of everything with incredible hospitality and patience. Transportation was easy and dependable, our accommodations were beautiful, and he made traveling around Bali remarkably convenient. We never felt like we were simply being driven from one tourist attraction to another. He helped us actually experience Bali — its people, spirituality, traditions, food, beauty and culture. One of the most extraordinary days of our entire trip was our visit to Taman Beji Griya Waterfall Temple for the traditional Melukat purification ceremony. It was unlike anything I have experienced before. We participated in the waterfall rituals, including releasing what we wanted to leave behind and then celebrating love and joy. There was even a rainbow at the waterfall. It was an incredibly emotional and beautiful experience. But what happened afterward was something we never could have planned. After the purification, we unexpectedly encountered Ratu Ida Pedanda Gede Buruan Manuaba, a Balinese Hindu high priest. We had not arranged to meet him. Our guide recognized the significance of the encounter, respectfully helped us communicate with him and translated our conversation. When the Pedanda learned that Jason and I were in Bali and planning to marry, that chance encounter eventually led to something extraordinary: we were able to be married in Bali in a traditional spiritual ceremony. That is the difference between simply visiting Bali and traveling with someone who truly knows Bali. Our guide didn’t just show us beautiful places. He helped us understand what we were seeing and experiencing. He helped us navigate cultural customs respectfully, communicated for us when language could have been a barrier, introduced us to experiences we never would have found on our own, and made us feel genuinely welcomed. Throughout our trip, he helped coordinate transportation, activities, temples, meals and all of the little logistical details that can otherwise become stressful when traveling in another country. Whether we were visiting temples, exploring Ubud, going to the Monkey Forest, traveling to beaches, experiencing ceremonies or simply figuring out what to do next, having him there made everything easier. And despite the extraordinary level of service and attention we received, everything was very reasonably priced. The value was exceptional. What impressed me most, though, was his heart. He wasn’t trying to manufacture a “tourist experience” for us. He genuinely wanted us to love his country and understand its culture. His warmth, hospitality and pride in Bali came through in everything he did. We came to Bali expecting a vacation. Instead, we experienced purification under sacred waterfalls, ceremonies and traditions we will never forget, incredible landscapes, wonderful food, laughter, adventure, and ultimately our wedding. Those are memories we will carry for the rest of our lives. There are plenty of people who can drive you around Bali and show you the sights. But if you want someone who will help you experience the heart, culture, spirituality and beauty of Bali, this is the person I would recommend without hesitation. By the end of our trip, we didn’t feel like we had hired a guide. We felt like we had made a friend in Bali.
