What you'll do
Hi, I’m Katerina! Born and raised here on Naxos, and for the past five years I’ve been sharing my island through olive oil, food, and simple everyday traditions. In my brandnew workshop in the heart of Naxos Town, I host small, cozy groups for a tasting and baking experience that feels warm, relaxed, and genuinely local. We begin with a friendly introduction to extra virgin olive oil. What makes an oil truly “extra virgin”? How do you recognise real aromas and flavors? Can we cook with it? Together we explore these questions while tasting different Naxian oils, learning easy techniques, and discovering how locals pair olive oil with herbs and food. Then we dive into baking. We prepare a traditional bread using a family recipe that has passed from my great-grandmother to my grandmother to me. It’s simple and full of the smells and memories I grew up with. With small groups, everything feels personal. More like spending time with a local than following a big class. By the end, you’ll have tasted Naxos in the most authentic way! Join me in the center of Naxos Town and experience traditional Naxian flavors with real expertise, heart, and a touch of fun.

Katerina provided the most wonderful morning activity on our vacation. We started by baking a loaf of bread, then sampled different olive oils while learning the history of olive oil making! Finished up with a fantastic lunch. Katerina was the perfect host! She was so friendly, knowledgeable and has wonderful recommendations for your vacation! Katerina is fabulous. The bread making and olive oil tasting is a fun experience. I learned a lot. The meal and snacks were also very tasty. The meal ingredients were all family farm sourced and wonderful quality. So glad Katerina is sharing her grandmother’s recipes and wisdom.

She's a lovely host; we learned about the quality of olive oil, how it's produced ad made delicieus olivebread according her grandmothers recipe. Also the lunch was good whit fresh food.
