Overview

Why not make the absolute most out of your time in Jogja and turn few “dead hours” in the morning into the most memorable part of your trip?

Local market is not just a place to buy and sell, but also hold a lot of local wisdom. Market is always be the best place for trying local food and seeing the real local life. From our meeting location (Lupis Mbah Satinem), you will take off to explore one of local market that was founded in the early 19th century during Dutch colonial rule and one of the economic centers in Yogyakarta, which located next to Chinese district. You will try some traditional snacks and foods that focus a little more on what "wong yogjo", local people in Yogyakarta, eat at this time of the day for breakfast or brunch.

Wonderfully delicious way to discover Yogyakarta!

We had a wonderful experience with Kalika! We tried a variety of different and delicious foods we wouldn’t have tried otherwise, exchanging with friendly locals through Kalika along the way. All the vendors were carefully chosen for their delicious and fresh food, made to order, where even the sauces were made by them, and for being clean/hygenic. We did the morning food tour and would have happily done the evening one with her too if we had stayed an extra night. Would highly recommend!

Excellent morning food tour

The tour was very good, Anissa is very knowledgeable and can explain the foods and relevant history about it (if any) very well. Foods themselves were very delicious, it’s definitely worth to do while in Yogyakarta.

A Morning Well Spent in Yogyakarta, Indonesia

I joined the morning food tour to visit the famous Lupis Mbah Satinem after seeing so many strong reviews, and they were correct. The tour focused on local spots where vendors clearly care about their craft. One standout dish was a Javanese salad prepared the traditional way, ground fresh in a mortar right in front of me. That extra time and effort really showed. It’s the kind of place and experience you wouldn’t easily find on your own, and it reflects how thoughtfully the tour is curated. The hostess was incredibly kind and attentive. She even shared her sunblock when I forgot mine and helped me book a Grab to my next tour. I loved the experience and would absolutely book with them again. This is a genuinely excellent tour company, and you’ll be glad you booked a tour with them.

A Food Tour to Remember with Anisa

I joined a food tour with Anisa and it was absolutely spectacular. Her passion for Indonesian cuisine and culture is truly contagious, and she made every stop feel like a journey into the heart of the country. Anisa doesn’t just show you food – she shares stories, traditions, and insights that make the whole experience unforgettable. Highly recommended 🌟

Indonesian food is so much more than nasi goreng…

I had an amazing morning walking around and trying the various street foods of Jogja with Anisa. Not only was she so informative about the various foods we tried, but she also gave me a unique perspective into how Indonesian culture and history of the past carries on into the present. I also love that she brought me to local vendors rather than chain restaurants as a way to support small businesses. She also carefully made sure that the food was safely prepared for foreigners like myself. This was one of my most memorable mornings in this city. I highly HIGHLY recommend this tour.

This tour was one of the...

This tour was one of the most culturally immersive experiences I had in Yogyakarta. The food was wonderful and so interesting. Anisa did such a great job catering to individual dietary restrictions. She was knowledgeable, warm, and fun to chat with. This tour and all of the amazing food and kind vendors was a favorite part of my Jogja trip!

Authentic experience to taste delicious traditional Yogyakarta snacks and foods.

It was a wonderful experience walking in Central Yogyakarta tasting traditional foods and snacks which would not be available at hotels or restaurants. The quality of the foods were varied from sweet savoury and crispy. I like that the food was light and fresh so that we could walk along and feel energized. Anisa is a great guide and communicative. I also like that they cater to all diets so that it can accommodate everyone. I also like that she is acquainted with street vendors and their specialties. Yogyakarta has a very strong local culinary tradition and this tour is a great way to experience the delicious snacks that the vendors offer.
