Ephesus Night Tour

Great night. Pick up 5.15pm from hotel. Get to Ephesus just before 6 pm. Explanatory video onboard bus. Very informative. Our guide was Koray. Very passionate. Great English. 3 hours in Ephesus. You see just half it... but most of the main buildings. Great to not be baked! Buildings lit up are amazing.

If you are visiting Ephesus, you absolutely have to experience the "Ephesus by Night" tour, and you need to cross your fingers that you get Koray abi as your guide! We booked with Ephesus Bus Tours for the evening slot, and it was hands-down one of the absolute highlights of our entire trip to the Turkish coast. Arriving in the early evening means you completely bypass the brutal daytime heat and the massive cruise ship crowds. Watching the golden hour sun set over the marble ruins before the architectural night lights flip on is pure magic. The projection light show over the Library of Celsus under the stars is completely breathtaking. Just as a practical note for future travelers: the general admission fee for the Ephesus archaeological site is not included in the baseline tour price. However, you can easily pay your guide for the ticket during pickup, which is highly convenient as it allows you to bypass the main ticket lines entirely upon arrival. What truly made the night unforgettable, though, was our guide, Koray abi. He didn't just rattle off dry history facts; he brought this ancient Greco-Roman metropolis to life with so much passion, depth, and hilarious storytelling. We learned so much about the deep history of the city, including its fascinating ancient Greek origins. But he also kept us laughing the whole time with quirky insights into daily Roman life—especially when explaining the social dynamics of the men's public communal toilets (the original boardroom networking space!) and the stomach-churning realities of the women's laundry spaces. Koray abi is a legendary guide who treats you like family from the moment you step onto the tour. Flawless service, exceptional knowledge, and an incredible night out. 10/10 highly recommended!
