Ayu was so knowledgeable and amazing guide, would highly recommend this excursion. Definately recommend remember to take sunscreen and mosquito spray, it wasn't bad but were some mosquitos. Overnight had the netting around our sleeping mat. We were used to walking, but this trek is hilly, so make sure get in shape before going. We had a fabulous time.
Ayoo alias Zdenek (Czech) is a perfect guide and companion. Trekking in the jungle, staying overnight with locals and great bamboo cooking (the best roast pork we've ever eaten)! Lots of beautiful experiences and a gift from Ayoo - a bamboo cup.
Aryu speaks excellent English. He is a fountain of knowledge who creates something every 30 minutes while walking in the jungle and explaining the culture, nature, and even the politics of the country. He entertains teenagers and children while fascinating the older ones. We were welcomed by Ayi, who is a lovely man and a fine cook; he had prepared a top-notch room for us. Spartan shower but hot water, please. No, really, spend a day, two days with him; I let you enjoy his kindness, inventiveness, and energy. You won't regret it! I hope you have room in your suitcase for all the souvenirs he makes for you in the jungle. Aryu! A big thank you to you!
Two days of discovery with an excellent guide. Aryu knows his country well and shares it with passion. He is also an excellent cook who masters bamboo cooking and handles the machete very well! We are delighted to have been able to share these moments with him as well as with the Akha family who welcomed us. Genuine and lovely people. Thank you again, Aryu!! If you are looking for authenticity, go there with your eyes closed!!!
