What an excellent tour! Ayu is a wonderful guide, knowledgeable in the history of textiles and the local area where we walked. I was lucky to be the only person on the tour that day and I received extra special attention. I had such a wonderful experience on this tour with Ayu. She was so knowledgeable and took us to a variety of different fabric shops. She even explained about the traditional Balinese outfits which was really interesting. I would highly recommend this tour if you are interested in textiles/fabrics in Bali. It was a highlight of my trip.

Ayu is incredibly open and friendly and also spoke impeccable english. We had a great experience and learned a lot about fabric in Indonesia generally and Bali specifically. Ayu has great knowledge of the history and production of fabric in the region. If you’re into fabric or sewing (I’m not), or just interested in learning about a niche industry, Ayu is your guide!
Ayu gave great insight into the cultural connection between the different fabrics, how they are made and where they come from. The shops we visited showed a variety of good quality and interesting fabric types and the shop keepers were happy to share their knowledge with us.
Had the perfect tour from Ayu. Luckily I had a private tour, i learned a lot and purchased some beautiful fabrics. Going home with lots of inspiration.
