Grand Tour of Turkey

We had an excellent experience with Rosa as our guide in Cappadocia. From the very beginning, she understood what we were looking for and, throughout the three days we spent together, she adapted the programme to our interests, wishes and expectations. Rosa has been our eyes in Cappadocia. She did much more than simply guide us through a predetermined itinerary: she helped us discover the region, its history, its landscapes and its local life, adding small experiences along the way that made the journey much more personal and memorable. On our first day, we visited the Imagination Valley and Avanos, walked along the Red River (Kızılırmak), stopped for an ice cream and visited a local ceramic artisan. These were simple but very special experiences that allowed us to see a different side of Cappadocia. The second day combined some of the region’s best-known experiences with Rosa’s personal touch. We started with an unforgettable hot-air balloon flight with Flower Balloons Ride, followed by Göreme, the underground city of Özkonak, lunch, a visit to a traditional carpet centre and the Church of St. John the Baptist. We also discovered Uçhisar from a wonderful panoramic viewpoint, where we could admire the fortress from the opposite side, and Rosa took us to a small café where we had the opportunity to try pistachio coffee — a lovely local experience that we would never have discovered on our own. But it was especially on our third day that Rosa showed us how well she knows Cappadocia beyond the usual tourist routes. She took us to some authentic hidden gems: the ancient city of Sobesos at Şahinefendi, the remarkable Keşlik Monastery near Cemil, with the churches of St. Michael and St. Stephen and its monastic surroundings, and then the Church of Cemil, also known as the Church of the Holy Cross. We continued to Mustafapaşa and discovered its remarkable historical and architectural heritage. These places made us feel that we were discovering a deeper, less familiar and incredibly fascinating Cappadocia — far beyond the most popular sights. We would also like to highlight the excellent collaboration between Rosa and our driver. They worked together as a very professional team, making the three days comfortable, smooth and enjoyable for all of us. Another detail that we particularly appreciated was Rosa’s generosity in sharing publications and guides about Cappadocia and Ürgüp with us, in English. They contain precious information about the region and we will keep them as a very special memory of our trip. Rosa exceeded our expectations as a guide. Her knowledge, flexibility, attention to detail and ability to adapt the programme to her clients made a real difference to our experience. Thank you, Rosa, for being our eyes in Cappadocia and for showing us a side of this extraordinary region that we would probably never have discovered on our own. It was a real pleasure to spend these days with you. We highly recommend Rosa to anyone who wants to discover Cappadocia in a more authentic, personal and meaningful way.
