Overzicht
Join us as we venture South taking in Culloden Battlefield, Clava Cairns, Cawdor Castle (Urquhart Castle if closed) Loch Ness, Wardlaw Mausoleum, Highland Cows and perhaps even Jamie Fraser if you are lucky.
Avoid the hustle and bustle of a larger coach group and tour round the highlands in our 16 seat minibus.
We try to get the most out of your day out so departure times will start 9am.
While some of the tours are not wheelchair friendly, we try our best to accommodate.

We DO REQUIRE NOTICE, as we are restricted on luggage space we need to know in advance if you are taking walking aids/pushchairs with you on any of our tours.

Clava Cairns
Durf jij de stenen aan te raken? We zijn niet verzekerd als je teruggaat in de tijd naar 1746. Kom de stenen bezoeken waar het allemaal begon voor Outlander. Op meer dan 4000 jaar oud hebben ze een aantal verhalen te vertellen.

Culloden Battlefield
Het hooglandleven veranderde voorgoed op dit veld in 16 april 1746, waar de laatste veldslag werd uitgevochten tussen de Hannoveraanse soldaten en de voorbestemde Jacobieten. Wij begeleiden u op deze bijzondere rondleiding door de lotgevallen site.

Urquhart Castle
Voor het eerst gebouwd in de middeleeuwen gaat dit gebied terug tot de 6e eeuw. Urquhart kasteel werd gebouwd in de 13e eeuw en speelde een sleutelrol in de Schotse Onafhankelijkheidsoorlogen, nu een ruïne staat het op een toplocatie op Loch Ness om een glimp van Nessie op te vangen.

Loch Ness
Stop aan de oevers van Loch Ness en bezoek Nessie's thuisland. Misschien zie je zelfs een beroemde Nessie Hunter.

Wardlaw Mausoleum
Voltooid in 1634 als de begraafplaats voor de Clan Fraser van Lovat stamhoofden, die gestopt waren met het gebruik van Beauly Abbey als hun begraafplaats. Hier gaan we een bezoekje brengen aan Simon 'de vos' Fraser.... of zullen we???

Beauly Priory
Beauly Priory is de beroemdste historische site - een ruïne 13e-eeuws Valliscaulian klooster. Bezoek waar Claire de Frasers 'Ziener' ontmoet. Beauly is de thuisbasis van de originele Simon 'de vos' Fraser

Our tour guide was Avril who owns the company. She was very knowledgeable. Everything ran on time. The meeting time and location at the port worked well. The sights were interesting and we were able to do some sights that the cruise ship tours could not get into due to the size of the coach bus. Avril has 2, 16 passenger vans that traveled together. It was less costly than a similar cruise ship shore excursion.
We had an amazing day in the Highlands with Lorraine from Avril's Travels. She made us feel welcome right away and tailored the trip to us. Our daughter, a big Outlander fan, loved visiting filming spots – especially the stone where Claire travels through time. We also stopped at Loch Ness to look for Nessie while Lorraine shared fascinating stories about Scottish history and legends. Avril of Avril's Travels took us on an excellent tour of the areas around Invergordon. We visited Cawdor Castle, the Cairns, Culloden Battlefield, Loch Ness, and visited the Highland Coos. We saw a LOT in one day! Arvil is a great guide and made everyone feel comfortable and relaxed. We chose this tour over the one offered on the Princess cruise ship and are so glad that we did!!
