The 8 hour tour was all inclusive including lunch at a price of around £105 p.p. Pick up process ran smoothly and we were picked up on time near our hotel The first stop was at a high end pottery factory in Selcuk. Then moved on to Ephesus for a two hour tour. Our guide Ekim was very amiable and knowledgeable and he imparted many interesting facts about the city's history. He was only too happy to answer any questions. From Ephesus we had a one hour lunch break. The selection of food on offer was quite poor for British tastes unless you are vegetarian. From the restaurant we briefly visited the Virgin Mary House. Then it was on to the Artemis Temple, one of the Ancient Wonders of the World. The final stop was at a store selling some top quality Turkish Delight, teas,oils, spices and perfumes all made from locally sourced ingredients yhen it was back to Izmir
Ekim, our tour guide was very kind and profesional, his knowledge from the old civilization and the history of his country was very impressive. We enjoyed the tour to Ephesus, for us was a great experience. Kim was a very good guide.
Our tour guide Alphe was phenomenal. He was very personable, friendly, and his English seems like it’s on a native level. He’s very easy to understand and speaks loud enough that you can hear him. He is very knowledgeable about history and I really appreciated the abundance of information he gave us on our tour. I can’t say enough good things about him as a guide and I’ve done a lot of tours over the years with guides. The tour itself was great too. I enjoyed all the stops we did and felt we had enough time at each location. The buffett lunch was delicious too. I also was glad we stopped at a gas station on the drive to use the toilet.
If you are lucky, Alperen will be your guide. He speaks perfect English and is a history / archeology geek! He’s super knowledgeable friendly and enthusiastic about what he does. Great experience. The tour guide, Genghis, an older man walked so fast through the ruins, it was very difficult to keep up. Walking fast to keep up was dangerous as the stones on the street were mostly a smooth slick marble. My foot slipped a few times. The guide was supposed to raise his orange umbrella which many of the guides had orange umbrellas but hardly used it.. At the end of the tour, he took us to a Turkish rug store with very, very high pressure salesman. When I wanted to wait outside, he almost forced me to stay. I left the store to wait outside for my wife and the rest of the tour group. The guide, Genghis, came out side and told me to go back inside, to which I told him no wanted to get some fresh air. After a moment one of the employees of the store came out and again strongly suggested I go back into the store. The group that went upstairs was also pressured to purchase a woven rug.
Excellent tour! Well organised, on time, comfortable Van, how driver. Erman was my guide, good spoken English and very knowledgeable. I definitely recommend this tour.
I had a wonderful experience on the Ephesus tour overall and would definitely recommend it. Our guide was amazing — the pickup was smooth, he was punctual and very professional. I found him to be extremely well-educated and full of knowledge. He explained everything really well and made the tour interesting and enjoyable. My only suggestion for the tour agency would be to allow a little more time at each location and avoid making the tour feel rushed. It would also be great to have some additional time to sit and relax during such a long day. The lunch break was supposed to be around 40 minutes, but in reality it was hardly 25–30 minutes, so there wasn’t much opportunity to relax. That said, overall I really enjoyed the experience. The guide was excellent, the organisation was good, and the tour was very informative. I would definitely recommend it and would be happy to book with them again.
