Just FYI I went on their spa and temple package. It was beautiful as Gede, the owner of AWAY Wanderlust, made sure that I'll enjoy this birthday treat for myself. I got a birthday cake after my massage and herbal bath. The tour guide, Mega, then brought me to the Tirta Empul temple and was guided on how to do the traditional purification ritual. Mega also took lots of photos , allowing me to document my special day. But my favorite is a sidetrip to a community owned coffee farm which is just near the temple. I love te coffee and tea tasting and getting to know more about Bali agriculture. That's an eye opener for me as I visited Bali many times but I always associate it with tourism or wellness. It didn't occur to me that the island still has a thriving farm sector.

You cannot ask for more wonderful guides than brothers, Gede and Kadek. They showed me around 'real' Bali, including the local culture, food and the best vantage spots away from the crowds. They share a wealth of knowledge about their country, region and customs, and no request was ever too much. When I got sick on my last couple of days, Gede and Kadek looked after me like family and gave me traditional Balinese remedies that soon had me back on my feet. Gede is also a talented videographer and captured beautiful memories of my trip that I will treasure for years to come. Kind, funny, generous, knowledgeable ... the list goes on.
