White Water Tubing

Having originally booked to go tandem canoeing we were advised that the water levels were too low and were given the option of changing to tubing, rebooking on a later date, or a refund. We decided to go for the tubing option and met Conell at the Bowlees Visitor Centre. As it happens we were the only ones booked on it that day. Conell welcomed us, sorted out wet suits, socks, and safety gear and provided pop-up tents in which we could get changed. We then walked down to the Tees with our tubes. (Conell had triple dry sacks for car keys and other items). We were then gently introduced to the experience with each ‘immersion’ in the river giving us greater confidence and knowledge of how to safely get back to the bank. Conell was also there with a safety line to pull us ashore if needed. We were encouraged to plunge into the river from various heights (totally voluntarily). Conell was an excellent, confident instructor with a friendly attitude. There was no pressure to do anything we didn’t feel happy to do. Altogether, we had a fabulous three hours and both felt that the experience was better than anticipated and probably better than the canoeing one we originally booked. Tubing was great. Our guide (tall bloke with long hair) was wonderful. He worked so hard to instruct us and keep us all safe. We were disappointed to find out that the videos were £25. Had we known about this before hand we would have taken our phones in our wet pouches. My suggestion is that customers are told the videos are £25 before hand. We’ve ended up with no photos or videos of us tubing.

Unbelievable day took my son and his friend and they loved it and the 2 staff members were different class totally made it absolutely amazing 👌
