You will be welcomed in a charming artist’s house in the heart of the old town with a welcome drink based on seasonal vegetables and local wine (white or red, of your choice). We will then begin the practical workshop of handmade pasta, where I will guide you in the preparation of three typical Apulian formats: cavatelli, fusilli and orecchiette. You will discover the secrets of the fresh tomato and basil sauce, enriched by the scent of Apulian extra virgin olive oil, with which we will season the freshly made pasta. To complete the dish, a touch of ricotta or parmesan cheese, according to your taste. As an alternative to pasta with tomato sauce, you can choose my ravioli stuffed with ricotta, spinach and Parmesan cheese, sautéed with extra virgin olive oil and sage leaves. To conclude in sweetness, I will show you how to prepare the mascarpone cream for my revisited tiramisu, made with homemade biscuits instead of the classic ladyfingers. Final tasting with dessert, coffee and limoncello. A bottle of wine is included for every two guests.

Fabulous experience. Marilena is a wonderful host and talented cook. We learned so much from her in our intimate class of only three people. It was a highlight of our trip to Puglia. I can’t wait to try her recipes for ravioli with spinach and fusilli with fresh tomato sauce when we return home.

The cooking class was an awesome experience! We learned how to make ravioli and fusilli pasta. She also provided tasty starters and showed us how to make the pasta sauces and Tiramisu. Everything was delicious, and we were given recipes for everything! I definitely recommend this cooking class!
MarilenaTucci-cooking class was a truly wonderful and authentic experience. From the minute you enter her apartment, you are greeted warmly and made to feel right at home. Her techniques and experience making pasta are top notch. We made ravioli stuffed with spinach and ricotta along with Fusilli n a fresh tomato sauce. We also enjoyed some antipasti when we first came in and had a delicious homemade tiramisu for dessert. We were offered their homemade white and red wine to compliment the good. Marilena is also an artist with many of her creations on display in her apartment. Her passion for cooking and art were reflected in every bite of the food we ate. A wonderful class to experience in Monopoli.
If we could give Marilena’s cooking class 100 stars, we would! This was easily one of the highlights of our entire trip to Italy. Marilena welcomed us into her charming apartment and immediately made us feel at home. She was warm, funny and absolutely lovely. Another couple joined the class, and by the end of the evening it felt less like a tour we had booked and more like spending a wonderful night in Italy with new friends. We made pasta together, drank wine, laughed throughout the evening, and then sat down to enjoy everything we had prepared. We ate until we were completely stuffed and loved every minute of it! There are plenty of cooking classes you can take in Italy, but what made this one so special was how personal it felt. Being welcomed into Marilena’s home and spending the evening cooking, eating and laughing together gave us exactly the kind of authentic experience we had hoped to find in Puglia. I truly cannot recommend Marilena and this experience enough. If you are visiting Monopoli, book this class. You will be so glad you did!
