The tour by Carlota was very interesting. Tried local liquor, visited some places that are not very obvious for tourists, and found out a lot about Madrid's history, yet without any boring stuff. Definitely recommend it!
Paula knew a lot and she brought energy and excitement even though we had just landed that morning. Sh was able to share not only historical knowledge but also random present day fun facts.
What a fabulous tour of Madrid! We did the Madrid Essentials tour with Carlota in the evening slot (7:30-10pm) and it was just perfect!👌 Carlota showed us many historical sights, shared photos for context, provided a lot of helpful information - it didn’t even feel like 2.5 hours! I went on the walk along with my parents and all three of us were fully emersed the entire time. Key highlights for us: - Interesting stories and historical significance that Carlota shared about Puerta del Sol and Plaza Mayor - Carlota took us to El Madrono where we tried the local liquor, “ Licor de madroño” - Spanish liqueur made from the arbutus berries of the Madroño (strawberry tree). - We enjoyed seeing old establishments (over 100 years) such as La Posada del Peine (the oldest hotel in Madrid) and Sobrino de Botin (the oldest restaurant in the world!) - Loved the end of the tour on top of a hill facing the Royal Palace and a gorgeous sunset ❤️ We are so grateful to Carlota for such an enjoyable evening! Lovely way to spend our last night in Madrid. She also shared a list of recommendations with google map links for restaurants, places to see etc- so recommend doing the tour on Day 1 😊
