Kusadasi
Goditi una giornata memorabile ammirando i siti storici dell'antica città di Efeso e la Casa della Vergine Maria in questa gita di un giorno. Fatti prelevare dal tuo hotel situato in posizione centrale a Kusadasi o dal porto delle crociere di Kusadasi in auto fino a Selcuk per circa 30 minuti. Incontra i partecipanti che si uniscono al tour da Selcuk e inizia a esplorare la Casa della Vergine Maria e Efeso intorno alle 10:00.

The House of the Virgin Mary
La prima tappa del tour è la Casa della Vergine Maria dove potrebbe trascorrere gli ultimi giorni della sua vita. Potrebbe infatti essere venuta in zona con San Giovanni, che trascorse diversi anni nella zona per diffondere il cristianesimo. Paolo VI è stato il primo papa a visitare questo luogo negli anni '60. Successivamente, negli anni '80, durante la sua visita Papa Giovanni Paolo II ha dichiarato il Santuario della Vergine Maria luogo di pellegrinaggio dei cristiani.

Ephesus Ancient City
Quindi inizia ad esplorare Efeso, che un tempo era una delle maggiori potenze del mondo antico. Fai un viaggio nel passato camminando per le strade di marmo, visitando l'Agorà superiore. Quindi continua verso il teatro Odeon. Dirigiti verso Piazza Domiziano e osserva le splendide colonne al Tempio di Domiziano. Passa accanto alla Fontana del Pollio. Ammira la Porta d'Ercole prima di passare al tempio e alla fontana di Traiano. Lasciati stupire dal Tempio di Adriano. Passeggia vicino alle terme romane, alle latrine, alla piazza del mercato e all'antica casa del bordello. Ammira gli splendidi resti della terza biblioteca più grande del mondo romano presso la Biblioteca di Celso. Ammira il Grande Teatro e immagina come potrebbe essere guardare uno spettacolo al tempi antichi. . Dopo Efeso, dai un'occhiata a quella delle Sette Meraviglie del Mondo Antico al Tempio di Artemide. Ritorna al tuo hotel con ricordi indimenticabili.

The Temple of Artemis
Artemide, la dea greca, figlia di Zeus e Leto e gemella di Apollo, era la dea degli animali selvatici, della caccia e del parto. Era ampiamente venerata nel mondo greco, ma il suo luogo di culto più famoso era il Tempio di Artemide a Efeso, una delle sette meraviglie del mondo antico. Il tempio fu distrutto il 21 luglio 356 aC in un incendio doloso commesso da Erostrato. Secondo la storia, quella stessa notte nacque Alessandro Magno. Un nobile Efeso osservò che Artemide era troppo impegnata con la consegna di Alessandro per salvare il suo tempio in fiamme. In seguito Alessandro si offrì di pagare per la ricostruzione del Tempio, ma gli Efesini rifiutarono. Alla fine, il tempio fu restaurato dopo la morte di Alessandro nel 323 aC. Questa ricostruzione fu a sua volta distrutta durante un'incursione dei Goti. Poi fu ricostruita ma dopo migliaia di anni oggi non è rimasto molto da vedere dall'Artemisione. Farò una visita per immaginare quanto fosse magnifico un tempo il tempio.

The tour guide was knowledgeable and the customer service was spectacular! I definitely recommend this tour.
The guide was very knowledgeable. Pick up at the hotel went smoothly. The lunch was very good. My wife and I were in a small group. Everything went very well until we were taken to a "fashion Show", which was a blatant disguise to sell us leather and other clothing. Nobody in our group bought anything. It took away from the overall experience. My wife asked if we were going to see St John's basilica. Not today on this tour came the reply. It would have been much better to avoided the "Fashion" experience and replace it with a visit to St John's basilica.
Our family joined the Ephesus and Virgin Mary House tour on July 9th, 2026. We had the pleasure of having Azer as our tour guide and Mustafa as our driver. Our pick up time at our hotel was 8:30am, but Azer was already there to greet us enthusiastically when we reached the lobby before our scheduled pick up time. Our family also appreciated that we were part of a small tour group (9 people in total). Our tour was supposed to start at Ephesus and finish at Virgin Mary house. However, when Azer saw that there were 2 cruise ships docked at Kadadasi, she decided that it would be better to visit Virgin Mary House first to avoid the large crowd in the afternoon. It was definitely the right call. When we arrived in Ephesus Azer explained everything about the ruins of Ephesus, the history, and the different cultures that inhabited Ephesus in detail. Azer is very knowledgeable indeed. A buffet lunch was included with the tour. They served traditional Turkiye dishes. Nothing special, but good quality. Thank you to Azer and Mustafa for making our family’s visit a pleasant and memorable experience!
The guide was very friendly and informative
Tijen was the best guide! She was so incredibly knowledgeable about history. The more she told, the more we were curious to ask and she always had an answer. She made the experience allow us to visualize that period and the stories. She was friendly and fun as well. The group was approximately 8 people so the size was also nice to not feel like we were being herded. Not only would I recommend the tour, because Ephesus is an amazing ancient city to witness, but I’d recommend Tijen.
Our day discovering the ancient city of Ephesus was perfect! Raphael our guide was extremely knowledgeable in his history, not just of Ephesus, but so much more. He was thoughtful, thorough, funny and really brought the ruins alive. We also enjoyed visiting the House of Mary. Lunch was superb as a bonus. Kudos to Crowded House for exceptional service and a special thanks to Ramazan the owner who has gone above and beyond for us while visiting the beautiful country of Türkiye.
Our time with Raphael was great! He gave us lots of time to take pictures and to see the sites. Lunch was good as well with many options to choose from.
