Anggrek Putih Lombok Cooking Class & Garden Tour

What a fantastic day! We’d heard good things about Anggrek Putih and decided to give the cooking class a go while we were in Lombok. So glad we did. The whole experience was really relaxed and genuine. We started with a wander around their beautiful garden, checking out all the herbs, spices and veggies they actually use for the cooking. It was great seeing where everything comes from rather than just having ingredients put in front of you. Then it was aprons on and time to cook. This isn’t one of those classes where you sit around watching someone else do everything — you actually get stuck in and cook. We made a heap of different Indonesian and Lombok dishes, and the family explained everything in an easygoing way. Plenty of laughs along the way too. Once we'd finished, everyone sat down to enjoy the feast we'd made. There was so much food and it was absolutely delicious. Definitely turn up hungry! What we liked most was that it didn’t feel commercial or rushed. It felt more like spending a few hours cooking and having a yarn with a local family. Everyone was friendly, welcoming and genuinely happy to share their food and culture with us. If you're travelling around Lombok, put this one on your list. Great food, lovely people, beautiful surroundings and a really memorable experience. Would happily do it again. Cheers from Australia!

A memorable Lombok experience We really enjoyed our visit to Anggrek Putih Lombok. The cooking class was excellent — hands-on, enjoyable, and very informative. It was fascinating to learn about the local ingredients and traditional recipes. The garden tour was equally enjoyable and gave us a better understanding of the plants and ingredients used in everyday Lombok cooking. Everyone was warm and welcoming, and we felt very well looked after throughout the visit. A wonderful experience and definitely something we would recommend to other travellers visiting Lombok.

This was much more than we expected from a cooking class. We started by exploring the beautiful tropical garden and learning about local herbs, vegetables and spices before cooking together. Everything was prepared from scratch and we made many different traditional dishes. The atmosphere was friendly and personal, and afterwards we enjoyed all the food we had cooked. A fantastic way to experience the food and culture of Lombok. Highly recommended!

We had such a great time at Senggigi Cooking Class. The experience was very hands-on and relaxed, and we learned how to prepare several delicious Lombok and Indonesian dishes using fresh ingredients. The garden tour was a lovely part of the experience, especially seeing and picking some of the herbs and spices used in the cooking. The family was welcoming, patient and explained everything clearly. Definitely one of the highlights of our time in Lombok.

We had a wonderful time, starting with a tour of the lovely garden where most of the ingredients are grown, followed by a hands on, brilliantly guided cooking experience. The team were excellent, open to questions (many from my 9 year old) and really went out of their way to give us the best time. It was a real highlight and one we’ll remember, thank you!!
