Nous quitterons Icy Strait Point et traverserons le village autochtone de Hoonah, en Alaska, avant de nous jeter sur d’anciens chemins forestiers qui nous mèneront à une rivière isolée pour la pêche (pêche à la mouche ou à la vrille disponible). Pendant la promenade en voiture et le long de la rivière, il est courant d'apercevoir la faune - l'île a plus d'ours bruns par mile carré que presque partout ailleurs sur la planète!

Ce que vous ferez
Nous viendrons vous chercher et traverserons le village autochtone Tlingit de Hoonah en Alaska avant de rejoindre d'anciennes routes forestières qui nous mèneront à une rivière isolée où nous pêcherons le saumon et/ou la truite. La magnifique rivière se trouve dans la forêt nationale de Tongass, sur l'île Chichagof. Pendant le trajet en voiture et le long de la rivière, il est courant d'apercevoir des animaux sauvages : l'île compte plus d'ours bruns par kilomètre carré que presque partout ailleurs sur la planète. Selon la période de l'année, nous pouvons observer le frai du saumon et chercher des baies sauvages à manger. En arrivant à la rivière, nous enfilerons nos cuissardes et marcherons sur une courte distance jusqu'au premier trou de pêche où nous pêcherons le saumon et/ou la truite. Nous pouvons rester au même endroit pendant toute la durée du voyage, ou nous pouvons marcher le long de la rivière pour pêcher à plusieurs endroits. Après avoir pêché et recherché des ours le long de la rivière, nous reprendrons les anciens chemins forestiers jusqu'à Hoonah et vous déposerons au port ou à la destination de votre choix à Hoonah.

Nous viendrons vous chercher à l'entrée principale du véhicule à Icy Strait Point. Pour vous y rendre, veuillez suivre les instructions suivantes: Si votre navire accoste à Ocean Landing (quai ouest) – Débarquez de votre navire et montez la rampe d’accès au Centre d’aventure. Sortez du centre d’aventure et suivez les indications en direction de la « conserverie historique ». Passez devant le « musée du détroit glacé », puis suivez les panneaux en direction du centre de kayak. Passez devant le centre de kayak et vous verrez un tour en rond. Passez devant le poste de conduite circulaire et de garde et nous attendrons juste devant l'entrée de la propriété Icy Strait Point pour venir vous chercher. Temps estimé entre le navire et le lieu de rencontre: 10-15 min. Si votre navire accoste @ Wilderness Landing (quai est) – Débarquez de votre navire et marchez jusqu’à la télécabine. Embarquez à bord de la télécabine VERTE pour une promenade de 4 min. à travers la forêt jusqu'à la zone principale du port. Suivez ensuite les panneaux indiquant la « conserverie historique ». Passez devant le « musée du détroit glacé », puis suivez les panneaux en direction du centre de kayak. Passez devant le centre de kayak et vous verrez un tour en rond. Passez devant le poste de conduite circulaire et de garde et nous attendrons juste devant l'entrée de la propriété Icy Strait Point pour venir vous chercher. Our family of four, including two teenagers, had an absolutely incredible and truly authentic Alaskan salmon fishing experience — the kind you immediately start raving about to coworkers the moment you get home. Fishing was super easy, and within the first five minutes we already had our first catch. Everyone caught fish, and a few of us even landed multiples. My son tried fly fishing but preferred a standard reel, and Gavin made the switch effortless. The logistics were a breeze. It was only about a seven‑minute walk from the ship to the pickup point, and then a short, easy walk through the woods on a well‑traveled path to the water. All the gear was provided, clean, and ready to go, and Gavin sent a helpful list ahead of time so we knew exactly what to bring. We had plenty of time to fish, try different spots, and still explore the town afterward. The scenery was stunning, the weather was perfect, and we even saw a few bears — but Gavin kept us feeling completely safe the entire time. His mix of deep knowledge and chill personality matched our vibe perfectly. Plus, he gave us salmon dip for the ride back, and it absolutely hit the spot. Out of everything we did on our Alaskan cruise, our family agreed — without hesitation — that this was the best experience of the entire trip. I’ve already told all my coworkers this is a must‑do. We highly recommend this excursion to anyone wanting a true, unforgettable Alaska adventure.
This past August my family of four took a Natventure by boat trip. From start to finish the trip was flawless. Natalie had excellent communication and we were able to follow her instructions on where to meet with no problems. Natalie took us on a short boat ride to an incredibly private location. We took a hike to a stream and practiced our casting techniques. Natalie was so helpful and patient with us as it had been a long time since we had been fishing. Everyone in our family was able to catch fish and we even got to see a mother bear and her cubs fishing a little downstream from us. At the end of the excursion, Natalie made sure to get us back to port on time for us to get back on the cruise ship. My teens both said that the fishing trip was their favorite part of our time in Alaska.
Our fishing experience with Natventures was the highlight of our trip. Natalie was a perfect companion, especially when a brown bear moved in on us. Our group had complete confidence in Natalie abilities to protect us. We will be back.
From the moment we booked online, the entire experience was seamless. Natalie made sure we had everything we needed ahead of time, including how to obtain our fishing licenses, gear information, and sizing. The directions to find Chris and the NatVenture van were perfect, and as soon as we arrived, he had us suited up and ready to go. Once we made our way to the creek, we truly could not have asked for a more incredible experience. As we approached our fishing spot, we looked down to see bears feeding on salmon below us! The bears continued to come and go throughout our fishing trip, making an already amazing day absolutely unforgettable. We had three generations of our family on this trip, and every one of us walked away feeling the same way—it was truly the experience of a lifetime. We caught probably more than 30 fish, and Chris was there every step of the way. He helped us learn how to lure and reel in the fish, made sure everyone was comfortable, extremely safe and even took the time to capture some wonderful family photos for us. The combination of incredible fishing, beautiful scenery, bears in their natural habitat, and Chris’s knowledge and attention made this an experience our family will be talking about for years. I would without a doubt recommend this company to anyone looking for an unforgettable fishing adventure. From Natalie’s preparation before the trip to Chris’s guidance throughout the day, everything was exceptional. Five stars all the way. We would do it again in a heartbeat!

I can't say enough about Natalie and her guided tour. This was the absolute highlight of our trip to Alaska with me and my son. We hiked for about 20 minutes to the most serene spot and fishing was simply incredible! Pretty much caught them every cast. We caught so many Salmon we decided to try and catch a few trout and did that as well. Simply amazing trip and thank you Natalie!
An Unforgettable Hoonah adventure in Icey Strait, AK with NatVentures! What an absolutely excellent experience! Our family group of fourteen, including our 2 year old, had an incredible day in Hoonah with Natalie Vaz, owner of NatVentures, along with her additional guides, Chris and Gavin. With such a large group, we were especially impressed by how attentive, knowledgeable, and energetic all three guides were throughout the entire excursion. We hiked through a beautiful Alaskan forest down to the river, where everyone was provided waders — even our 2-year-old! From the very first cast, the fishing was fantastic. Everyone caught plenty of fish, and Chris, Gavin, and Natalie worked tirelessly, hustling up and down the river with their nets to scoop up and carefully unhook fish after fish. Almost everything was released, with the exception of the fish Natalie kept and later cooked for us in a nearby park. Freshly caught Alaskan fish prepared for our family was the perfect ending to an already amazing day! Natalie also knew that seeing bears was high on our wish list. Because she understood our time constraints with the cruise ship, she made sure we had the opportunity to look for them after we had enjoyed plenty of fishing. Before hiked up and back through the beautiful Hoonah forest, we waded along the river and, unbelievably, saw six bears right there in the river fishing for their own food! Watching them in their natural environment was an absolute thrill and a memory our family will never forget. We have been to Alaska eight times and have experienced some truly outstanding excursions, so we have a lot to compare it to. Without hesitation, NatVentures is hands down one of the very best experiences our family has ever had. Natalie, Chris, and Gavin went above and beyond to make sure everyone — from our 2-year-old to the grandparents — had an amazing time. We had A wonderful day river fishing in Alaska with Gavin. It was great to have a local take us to spots that tourist typically wouldn't know to access. Gavin was extremely knowledgeable and extremely patient with all of us. We are a family of five there were several times where our rods needed to be untangled or re-hooked and he was patient and prepared. Gavin was extremely knowledgeable about fishing and also everything Alaska. After fishing he took us to a beautiful lake area where we were able to look for bears and he had five binoculars for us to use. I would highly recommend booking this experience
