The Great Pyramid of Khufu
Die Große Pyramide von Gizeh ist die älteste Pyramide in Gizeh Plateu und größte Pyramide, die für Pharao Khufu um 2580 v. Chr. gebaut wurde. Pyramid Complex of Khafre
Die zweite Pyramide von Gizeh, auch bekannt als Pyramide von Khafre, wurde für König Khafre, den Sohn von Khufu, gebaut. Sie steht etwas kleiner als die Große Pyramide, wirkt aber höher, weil sie auf höherem Boden gebaut ist und noch einige ihrer ursprünglichen glatten Gehäusesteine an der Spitze behält.

Pyramid of Menkaure
Die kleinste Pyramide von Gizeh ist die Pyramide von Menkaure, gebaut für König Menkaure, den Enkel von Khufu. Sie ist etwa 65 Meter hoch, viel kleiner als die Pyramiden von Khufu und Khafre, aber einzigartig, weil ihr unterer Teil aus rotem Granit gebaut wurde, was ihr ein unverwechselbares Aussehen verleiht. Daneben befinden sich drei kleinere „Königinnenpyramiden“. Obwohl sie die kleinste ist, zeigt sie feine Handwerkskunst und ist ein wichtiger Teil des Pyramidenkomplexes von Gizeh.

Great Sphinx
Die Große Sphinx von Gizeh ist eine massive Kalksteinstatue mit dem Körper eines Löwen und dem Kopf von König Khafre. Sie ist etwa 73 Meter lang und 20 Meter hoch und damit die größte und älteste bekannte Monumentalskulptur der Welt. Die Sphinx wurde gebaut, um die Pyramiden zu bewachen und Stärke, Weisheit und Schutz zu symbolisieren.
