Small Group Skip-the-Line Tour of the Prado Museum

I can’t tell you how great our tour with Pablo was. We learned so much, and his depth of knowledge is immense. He can answer nearly any question you might have about the art, and he does an amazing job of curating an immense collection so that you get a full range of the history of the art and its evolution, but in a way where you don’t get too bogged down in the vast history the collection encompasses. He’s smart, friendly, and welcomes questions and input from the people taking the tour, which makes it a great interactive learning experience. I truly learned more about the evolution of the Renaissance art movement from the Flemish works all the way to Goya, the first modernist. Another thing that was great was not just the history of the art, but how he explained and showed the differences of how to view it as it was intended. Everyone rushes to the front of the line to see it up close, but he explained and demonstrated how we perceive art differently from different distances and angles. If I ever make it back, I’ll definitely hire him again to show us more of what we didn’t get to see. It’s a huge museum and having a knowledgeable person guide you through it is immensely valuable. It’s the best money I’ve ever spent on a guide.

Pablo was fantastic! Really had the hits and the lessons down a T. Very glad I did this! The small group experience was quite nice. And I learnt a lot more than I expected about art history in a short time.

Our tour with Pablo was a most extraordinary visit to the Prado. We learned so much about the history of artists through the Renaissance period. Pablo is incredibly knowledgeable about how these artists conveyed the meaning of their paintings. He communicates clearly and makes each painting come alive. Looking at some of the paintings from different distances was exciting and allowed us to learn more about complex perspectives. We will remember this tour always.
