Our tour guide, Christian, was terrific. His enthusiasm for Grand Central and all things New York was infectious. His knowledge was deep, he answered all of our questions in detail, told us many stories about the sites we visited, and made the 90 minutes go by fast. The history of Cornelius Vanderbilt and the railroads, the beaux arts style, the gorgeous ceiling with the backwards constellations, the preservation fight led by Jacqueline Kennedy, the hidden tennis court, the really cool Whispering Gallery (parabolic effect), “window” in a wall in a now wine shop that was the movie projector that showed movies and shorts while people waited for their trains. Christian’s details were great - he pointed out this one small black square on the ceiling that was left to show how dirty and disgusting it was after decades of neglect (and to use as a paint test patch if needed), and he talked about the new, big time-saving connection of the Long Island RR to Grand Central. Really enjoyed the tour and learning that one million people move through Grand Central EVERY DAY was amazing. Hope some of them take the tour and appreciate the history! The 70 shops and food choices in the Dining Concourse are definitely worth checking out after the tour too. The most helpful part were the wireless ear pieces so we could hear the guide clearly. Thank you!
Pete was a great tour guide! His style was engaging and his pace was perfect!! We learned a lot and we are so glad we did the tour.
We took our 13 year old granddaughter on this tour and I was worried this would not be interesting to her. Quite the contrary! She loved it. Our guide, Jonathan was truly extraordinary and made the entire experience so special. Of all the things we did on our trip, this was our favorite.
Micky was very knowledgeable, so friendly too! I really liked that she was not trying to overdo her presentation. No nonsense, occasionally funny and friendly! Thank you for a great experience.
