Authentic Onsen Experience Tattoo Friendly Hidden Gem in Shinjuku

الجولة في لمحة

ما ستقوم به

Step into the world of Japanese sento culture at a retro bathhouse built in 1954 in Shinjuku, Tokyo. This is not a tourist spa but a true neighborhood bathhouse still loved by locals. Your bilingual guide will walk you through the basics: how to use the shoe lockers, changing rooms, washing area, and bathing pools. You’ll also learn the cultural background—why Mount Fuji murals are painted on the walls, how sento supported postwar communities, and why bottled milk became the iconic post-bath refreshment. After the orientation, those who wish can fully enjoy the bath. For guests who feel shy, the guide offers alternative options such as observing the architecture, the entrance murals, or simply relaxing in the lobby with a drink. Finally, cool down with a classic glass-bottle drink—milk coffee or fruit milk—just like the locals do after their soak. This beginner-friendly 1-hour experience is designed to ease you into Japan’s bathing culture, offering both knowledge and relaxation.
