Royal Palace of Madrid
Since the royal family only uses it for official receptions, the Royal Palace and its over 3000 rooms are open to the public. Your engaging guide will show you the famous main staircase, designed by Sabatini, which includes over 70 steps. You’ll head into the Throne Room, and admire the ceiling painted by Tiepolo, and the Hall of Alabarderos, dedicated to the palace guards. You will be able to enjoy along the way artists such as Goya, Mengs or Giaquinto, and even take a close look at the symbols of the Spanish monarchy: the crown and the scepter.You will also discover a complete set of stringed instruments made by the legendary Antonio Stradivari. After visiting all of the rooms available to you, you’ll have walked in the footsteps of royalty, experiencing Madrid at its most elegant.

The Royal Palace is not to be missed, it stood out even after several days of touring for its beauty and grandeur. Our guide, Jaime, was friendly, spoke great English, and was very informative. My husband is not usually much for tours but after this one, he said we should do more because Jaime’s presentation was so interesting.
Apologizes it's taken a while to write this. We've been traveling : ) We had two EXCELLENT private/small group tour while in Spain. One was the Alhambra and the other was the Royal Palace. The Royal Palace tour was with Beatrice. She's not the usual tour guide that ticks off the numbers. She's spent years (and continues to learn by volunteer at Spain's historic sites) learning about Spanish history, is passionate about it and love to share what she knows. Take lots of picture!

Great tour! Loved having a small group, it made asking questions so much easier. The Palace is amazing and our guide paced our tour very well giving us time to soak it all in and ask our questions all while expertly navigating us around the many large groups (of 25 or more people) also touring throughout the Palace.
Our last day in Spain and what a way to end it! Our guide was Beatriz and she was fabulous. So knowledgeable and engaging. Highly, highly recommend.
