With your guide, discover the best of Provence appellations and learn about the grape varieties Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre, Cinsault … and the complex art of blending. This wine tour is a great opportunity to taste some of the finest Rosés from Provence but also powerful reds, and aromatic and lively whites.
You will complete your shore excursion by visiting one of the most beautiful Provence towns/cities: Cassis or Aix en Provence or Lourmarin, according to the chosen itinerary.

We offer you a worry-free shore excursion, ensuring your timely return to the Cruise port, at least one hour before your departure time. We can adapt our wine tour departure/return times depending on your docking times.You'll meet your english-speaking wine expert guide at 9am (other departure time possible - to be defined with you after your booking) at the Marseille cruise pier. Your guide will drive you in a clean, comfortable & A/C minivan accomodating up to 8 people maximum. You'll visit 2 wineries in the morning. At each winery, the visits are private and educational and will be adapted to your level of knowledge. Curious beginners or connoisseurs are welcome! You'll go behind the scenes to learn while visiting the winemaking & the aging rooms. You'll have plenty of time to take pictures in the middle of the vines, and at anytime, to capture the beauty of Provence countryside. Along the morning, you'll taste some of the finest Rosés from Provence but also powerful and well-balanced reds, and aromatic and lively whites. Your guide will teach you the different steps to go through while tasting,if required , in order to maximise your wine tasting experience. You will then leave the countryside and get about 2h free time for lunch and for visit in one of the most beautiful towns/ cities from the area: the charming little port of Cassis, or the picturesque village of Lourmarin or the lively and elegant city of Aix en Provence: A great way to sample the local life, go shopping or get a change to enjoy the delicious french food thanks to the restaurant recommendations from your guide! You'll be back to Marseille Cruise Port around 4pm (other return time possible - to be defined with you after your booking) with plenty of time before your cruise ship departure time. We select different types of wineries in order to offer you the opportunity to see different ways to work. We have developped partnerships allowing us to take you behind the scenes: from the winemaking & the aging rooms to the bottling lines: you'll see everything! Your guide will also explain you about the soil, the climate, the grape varieties, the famous "terroir" but also the picking, the pruning, green harvesting and many other subjects in a relaxed and educational way.

- Departure/ return times will be confirmed after your booking and according to your cruise ship docking times.
- The town or city (Cassis, Aix en Provence or Lourmarin) where you'll go for the lunch break will be confirmed with you after your booking, according to the itineraries available on your docking date and your preference.
- The tour is not suitable for children under 10. For children under 10, please contact us in advance
- Don't forget to bring appropriate shoes, sun protection (sunglasses, hat, sunscreen...) and a water bottle!

Eric was not only our driver but an excellent guide and a wine expert as well. Each of the wine tours were conducted by him instead of someone at the winery. Each location was perfect. Great day with Eric.
First off, Jean Gabriel our tour guide was excellent. He was funny and the amount of information was amazing. You can tell he loves wine and enjoys his job. We chose a full day private wine tour. We understood we were going to 2 wineries and then Cassis for lunch. A reservation at Olea was made for us and the food was incredible. Pretty reasonably priced as well. We had 2 hours in Cassis which was plenty. Cassis is amazing. It is so pretty and again the food was incredible! We visited 2 wineries. The winery in the morning was incredible. We got a full tour, met the owner and had a tasting. Tastings are much different than what we were used to in the states. We tasted 3 wines and the portions were true tasting sizes. The wine was incredible. The 2nd winery was after lunch. This was just a tasting, no tour. Seemed like a more commercialized winery. Again, 3 tastings that were only tasting size. We did ask for an additional glass and were provided with another tasting size pour. We wished we would have had time to sit and have a bottle. We didn't necessarily feel rushed at the wineries, but we didn't feel like we were able to enjoy them. For a private wine tour we felt like we should have been given the opportunity to sit, relax and enjoy the wine. The total of 6 tastings between 2 wineries did not feel like enough for the price that we paid. This is a very expensive tour to not have at least 1 bottle of wine included. If a bottle of wine at 1 of the wineries were included then this is a perfect day.
Anya was the best host. She was personable, knowledgeable and gave us the best experience. We are so thankful for this excursion to begin our vacation. It will be hard to beat! Thank you and big thanks to Anya!

We enjoyed a wonderful wine tour with Loris our guide in Provence, visiting two charming local wineries. Loris had an in depth knowledge of wine which was impressive. The tour was a blend of beautiful countryside views, education of regional winemaking, and generous tastings of exceptional rosés, reds, and whites. It was the perfect mix of learning, relaxation, and authentic Provençal atmosphere—this all made for an unforgettable fun day spent in wine country.

We would 100% recommend this tour if you need a cruise ship excursion at the Marseille port! The cost is high but it is definitely worth it! Our guide Eric was extremely knowledgeable about wine and was amazing to talk to. Would recommend opting to do a casual lunch in Aix so you can explore the town a little during your free time!
