What a magical day it was seeing the sights of Rethymno and Chania with our tour guide George! I would highly recommend booking tours with Sunsud Tours. George was so welcoming and full of knowledge about the history of the island and the sights he took us too. We started at a local olive mill for a tour of the mill and an olive oil tasting with a third generation owner. Next we visited a gorgeous monastery that had ancient artifacts, art, gardens, and olive oil and wine tasting. We finished the day in Chania Old Town where George continued to imbue us with the Greek culture and local history. It was so charming and we finished our tour in Chania at a local restaurant on the harbour! We loved George so much and can’t say enough good things about him. He truly made our first day on Crete a day we will never forget. Thank you again George! You Rock! 🫶🏻🇬🇷🙏
This was a great tour. It gave us a beautiful overview of Rethymno and Chania including a tour of the monastery and an olive mill. It was so informative. Our tour guide, George Dermitzakis, was the best. His service was exquisite. His knowledge of Crete was amazing and it really helped us understand all the changes Crete went through. It was amazing to understand how olive oil is made, especially since he had history with working in the olive oil business. There were four of us on this tour and we left wishing that we could book everyday with George!!’
George picked us up at our hotel at the designated time. His car was quite comfortable. He is very knowledgeable about the history and geography of the area. We enjoyed the day in his delightful company and learned a lot about Crete. It was a well organized trip with options of places to visit. highly recommend using his services.
Our family spent a lovely day on private tour hosted by George of SunSud tour company. The entire day was perfectly organized, never felt rush and allowed us admire the beauty of surroundings while listening to George about the history of the region in engaging and informative manner. We enjoyed several stops on our way to Chania. The first stop was a beautiful viewpoint above Rethymno where George shared information about the historical periods of the city. We all including our children enjoyed the next stop at Kanakis Olive Mill where we were guided through the factory and shared explanation on the oil producing processes, then tasting olive oil and other local products. Afterward we drve along the bay admiring views of Gulf of Souda. We have a short stop at the Allied Cemetery where we paid our respect to the soldiers who fell in May 1941. One of the favorite stops was the Trinity Monastery of Tzagarolon where we were toured by George listening to fascinating stories. Later on we enjoyed a special wine tasting accompanied by a selection of traditional products at the monastery's old cellar. At Chania city we were guided through the picturesque harbor and explored the charm of Old town concluded by lunch at Antigoni Tavern enjoying sea view. If you are looking for very welcome, well-planned and enjoyable tour to Chania, we highly recommend SunSud hosted by George. Thank you for unforgettable day in Crete.

I can’t say enough about the fantastic day we had in Chania & the surrounding area. From the very start our experience was perfect. Our host/driver kept in close communication with us-as we were coming in on a cruise ship this is So important. Because we had a private driver the entire day catered to our interests and needs. Highlights for us were visiting the WWII allied cemetery, Olive oil tour & tasting, The Holy Trinity Monastery with (delicious) wine tasting among other sites and spectacular scenic views. Our tour ended with a walking tour of the city- so rich in history! Without our guide we would have missed so much. It was a perfect day!
